All shapes and sizes
It feels nice being able to share things. Including hats! We fell in love with these Toshi sun hats because of their wide brim and chin strap. But we increasingly love them for their hand-me-down-ness and multi-children fit. We often have playdates with hat-less friends and because of the head tie and chin strap, we can always stick a larger Toshi hat on them and it does the job. There's also a steady stream of smaller cousins to share them with. A happy and very loyal family

Treasure hunters
I love beach combing. I love finding beautiful treasures. I don't really need every bit of broken shell on the beach that little ones might offer up. So sometimes the combing is incentivised - a dollar for a sand dollar, an ice cream for a smooth pink shell, a go at the arcades for ten good pieces of sea glass. A prize for the rarest find! And anything extra (unwanted) can be reallocated to sandcastle designs. Enjoying beachcombing in our wide brimmed sun hats | #happyinthesu

Fun games with reaction speed testing
Find a sand dune. Build a slide with a jump. Try to catch the ball. Frustratingly addictive. Recommend just facing the ramp and practising catching if short on time or attention...this took a fair few goes!!! Enjoying our Toshi sun hat for great UPF50+ sun protection | #happyinthesun

Easter egg hunts with a difference
The Easter Bunny absolutely is all about delivering chocolate eggs in our house. But finding some additional Easter or spring time bonus treasure is quite fun too. A story and perhaps an Easter bonnet ;) The sun hats also make great egg collecting baskets - the chin strap simply becomes the handy handle. If you're not in the "own my own boat" club...
Make one! My mum and my auntie have happy memories of making sand boats with my grandad. It's now a continuing legacy of family boat building. Sometimes a one-man rowing boat; sometimes a Monaco style super yacht; always with a spade handle as the throttle-lever-thingy (as you can tell, we really don't own an actual boat). Enjoying great sun protection in wide brimmed sun hats with chin straps and head ties | #happyinthesun

Not all beaches are sandy...
Or it's a bit too chilly for wet sand. Or you just want just a little less sand in your life (car!). We've learnt that construction work can still continue in earnest. Driftwood, pebbles, seaweed, shells, seaglass... transformed into trains and diggers, turtles and dinosaurs, mummy and daddy. Anything! #sunhat #widebrim #sunprotection #happyininthesun
